SOUTH HOLLAND – State Representative Thaddeus Jones attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Allied Health & Nursing Center at South Suburban College on August 19th.
“This is an important resource in our community that will serve to train developing health care professionals,” said Jones. “This $52 million investment will help our young people and adults entering job retraining build solid futures. Education is vital and I am proud to be part of this development.”
This new facility will address the critical need for nurses, medical technicians and allied health professionals to serve our local population. The Allied Health & Nursing Center also provides an opportunity for South Suburban College to strengthen its partnerships with local medical providers. The facility will include the state-of-the-art classrooms, advanced simulation labs, and collaborative learning spaces that our students need.
The project is expected to be completed in 2027. Once operational, it will allow for South Suburban College to admit more students into its medical training programs and expand the curricula with more hands on learning. Graduates will be well prepared to enter high-demand health career fields.
