FLOSSMOOR, Ill – A student of Homewood-Flossmoor High School was arrested on Friday afternoon after a gun and ammunition were found on the floor, according to police.
Flossmoor Police Chief Carl Estelle said police were called around 1:30pm to alert about the weapon. The school was placed on lock down at that time.
Police said a semi-automatic handgun was found and a student was placed under arrest. No injuries were reported.
Law enforcement remained on scene throughout school dismissal and no fiurther details have been provided.
