One man is in custody and another is on the run after a shooting led to officers firing shots in south suburban Calumet City, Illinois, overnight.

One man has been taken into custody after a shooting led officers to fire shots. Another man has fled the scene.

Officers responded to a call about a large group of men fighting in the 400 block of Buffalo Avenue around 7pm. The caller reported shots being fired while on the phone with dispatchers who also heard the shots.

When officers arrived on scene, multiple men were firing weapons at each other.

According to officers, they ordered one of the men to drop his weapon. He did not comply and turned towards the officers. This is when officers fired warning shots.

This is when one of the men was taken into custody. Another of the armed men fled the scene.
